Job Description

The Counter Sales Associate provides support services for all phases of the order fulfillment process to Airgas customers, primarily over the telephone, both locally and in remote regions. The CSA promotes long-term customer relationships and delivers superior customer service, including sales, order entry, pricing negotiation, master file maintenance, problem resolution, expediting, product research with vendors, and coordination with internal departments such as field sales.

Responsibilities

1. Solicit sales from walk-in and telephone customers, assisting with product identification and merchandise location.
2. Complete and file all required paperwork promptly, documenting sales, quotes, or other relevant information.
3. Enter sales and quote data into the computer system and research customer inquiries.
4. Process payments, enter sales into the system, and adhere to administrative and accounting procedures.
5. Wrap and bag purchases, assist customers with loading merchandise.
6. Support warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, inventory stocking, cleaning, labeling, and restocking merchandise.
7. Follow safety procedures for cylinder handling and storage.
8. Maintain showroom cleanliness and update product literature and pricing documentation.
9. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications - Are you a MATCH?

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of product, warehouse, or sales experience and/or training.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google and/or MS Office Applications.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Adherence to safety programs, OSHA, and related regulations.
• Experience in gas, welding, and safety supply industry is a plus.
