Job summary

Montgomery Rubber & Gasket, a TRG Company, is seeking a self-starter Counter Salesperson to join our hose, fitting, and gasket shop. You will assist walk-in and phone customers, build hose assemblies, and manage orders in our ERP system.

This hourly, full-time role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, operating a forklift and hose crimper, and delivering accurate quotes and receipts while maintaining inventory and a clean, organized counter area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn the technical side of hose, fittings, and gasket materials, including pressure ratings, thread identification, and material compatibility.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn an ERP system.
• Ability to operate or be trained on a forklift, hose crimper, and air tools.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in, phone, and email customers with product selection and problem solving.
• Build hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies, including cutting, skiving, crimping, and testing.
• Operate a forklift, hydraulic hose crimper, and air tools.
• Enter quotes, sales orders, and receipts in the ERP system accurately.
• Pull, stage, and load customer orders.
• Source non-stock items and follow up with customers on status.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and keep the counter and assembly areas clean and organized.

Job Overview: Montgomery Rubber & Gasket, a TRG Company, is looking to add a self-starter Counter Salesperson to their team! This position is a great way to start a career in the Industrial Distribution Industry. The Counter Sales is a customer-facing role in a hose, fitting, and gasket shop. You will handle walk-in and phone customers, build hose assemblies, and manage orders in our ERP system.

• Assist walk-in, phone, and email customers with product selection and problem solving
• Build hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies, including cutting, skiving, crimping, and testing
• Operate a forklift, hydraulic hose crimper, and air tools
• Enter quotes, sales orders, and receipts in the ERP system accurately
• Pull, stage, and load customer orders
• Source non-stock items and follow up with customers on status
• Maintain inventory accuracy and keep the counter and assembly areas clean and organized Competencies:
• Possess excellent motivation to meet/exceed customer requirements
• Ability to read and understand work orders and job sheets
• Ability to push, grasp, bend, lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently on a repeated basis
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory software Preferred Education/Experience:

• Working between the sales counter, warehouse, and assembly area Position Type: This is an hourly, non-exempt full-time position. Hours are Monday-Friday, with possible weekend hours based on customer needs. Benefits:
