Job summary

Schulhoff Equipment Rental & Sales is seeking an Equipment Rental Counter Associate to help customers select the right equipment and rental solutions while delivering exceptional service. You will interact with customers in person and over the phone, prepare contracts, and manage records in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to handle lift requirements and occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and move up to 50-70 lbs.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in person and over the phone in a friendly, professional manner.
• Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate rental equipment and solutions.
• Prepare rental contracts, documentation, and customer records.
• Explain rental terms, fees, equipment operation, and safety features.
• Answer customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Process rental reservations and orders.
• Schedule equipment deliveries and pickups.
• Assist with equipment loading and unloading when needed.
• Conduct daily audits of open contracts and follow up on overdue rentals.
• Create quotes, reservations, and rental agreements using rental management software.
• Email quotes, contracts, and reservation information to customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized showroom and rental counter area.
• Stock shelves and arrange merchandise displays.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Report safety concerns to management.
• Attend departmental, store, and safety meetings.

Preferred

• Experience in equipment rental, inside sales, counter sales, dispatching, construction, automotive parts sales, or a related field.

Working Environment

• Frequent interaction with customers and the general public.
• Primarily indoor work with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions.
• Exposure to fuels, propane, cleaning solvents, and other industrial products may occur.
• Standing and sitting for extended periods throughout the workday.
