A counter staff member is responsible for directly interacting with customers at a service counter, taking orders, processing payments, providing information about products or services, ensuring a positive customer experience, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

$17.13 per hour

Key responsibilities of a counter staff member may include:

• Taking Orders:
• Accurately taking customer orders, including specifying options, quantities, and any special requests.
• Product Knowledge:
• Having detailed knowledge of products or services offered to answer customer questions and provide recommendations.
• Efficiently processing transactions using a point-of-sale system, including scanning items, accepting payment methods (cash, credit cards), and providing change.
• Preparing food or drinks (if applicable):
• Depending on the setting, may be responsible for basic food preparation like assembling sandwiches, pouring beverages, or following specific recipe instructions.
• Packaging Items:
• Properly packaging purchased items to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Addressing customer concerns, complaints, or questions regarding products, services, or store policies.
• Keeping the counter area clean and organized, including wiping spills, restocking shelves, and disposing of trash.
• Presenting products attractively on the counter to encourage sales.
