Job summary

Behavioral Health Network, Inc. in Western Massachusetts is seeking a counselor to perform admission and intake screenings, meet with clients weekly, and document treatment progress, adjusting plans as needed.

You will educate individuals and groups about alcohol and drug abuse, harm reduction, and community resources, and coordinate referrals for aftercare.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required); Associate’s Degree or higher in related field (preferred).
  • At least one year of experience in substance abuse or behavioral health counseling (required).
  • Familiarity with Internet, word processing and email systems (required).
  • Ability to complete accurate and detailed documentation

Responsibilities

  • Perform admission and intake screenings.
  • Meet with clients weekly to ensure goals are being met and determine areas in need of additional resources and attention.
  • Assess the outcome of treatment planning, adjusting treatment approaches accordingly, and documenting according to established expectations.
  • Educating individuals & groups regarding alcohol and drug abuse, harm reduction, mental illness and available community and self-help resources.
  • Assist in coordinating referrals for ongoing aftercare treatment with agencies and services and facilitating individual’s responsibility and participation in aftercare planning.

What You Will Do:

SHIFT: Tuesday - Saturday, 12pm - 8:30pm
Pay: $25.00 per hour
