Job summary

Behavioral Health Network, Inc. seeks a Program Director to lead the Clinical Stabilization Services (CSS) team in Western Massachusetts, overseeing clinical, administrative, fiscal, and operational aspects of a residential program.

You will ensure trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care, recruit and develop staff, manage licensing and regulatory compliance, and partner with senior leadership on budgeting and strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical or human-services field preferred.
  • Clinical licensure such as LADC I, LICSW, or LMHC preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in human services required, including two years supervisory experience.
  • Experience leading substance-use treatment or stabilization services preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Massachusetts DPH Bureau of Substance Addiction Services regulations.
  • Commitment to empowerment, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, recovery and community integration.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical, administrative, fiscal, and operational leadership for BHN's Clinical Stabilization Services program.
  • Plan, develop, organize, and direct program operations in alignment with BHN's mission and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure high-quality, trauma-informed clinical services within a safe residential environment.
  • Oversee admissions, census, assessments, treatment planning, documentation, and discharge planning.
  • Promote multidisciplinary collaboration among clinical, medical, nursing, recovery-support and case-management staff.
  • Maintain program licensing and regulatory compliance with MA DPH and accreditation requirements.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision, and professional development for program leaders and staff.
  • Monitor incidents, required trainings, documentation quality, productivity, and quality-assurance activities.
  • Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, resource planning, and forecasting.
  • Strengthen relationships with referral sources, payers, and community providers to promote continuity of care.

Education

High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree in clinical or human-services field (preferred)
Clinical licensure such as LADC I, LICSW, or LMHC (preferred)
5+ years experience in human services
2+ years supervisory experience
Experience in substance-use treatment or stabilization services (preferred)
MA DPH regulatory knowledge (preferred)

What You Will Do:

  • Provide clinical, administrative, fiscal, and operational leadership for BHN's Clinical Stabilization Services program.
  • Plan, develop, organize, and direct program operations in alignment with BHN's mission, program goals, and applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure high-quality, person-centered, trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and recovery-oriented clinical services within a safe and structured residential environment.
  • Oversee admissions, census, assessments, treatment planning, clinical programming, documentation, utilization review, discharge planning, and transitions to continuing care.
  • Promote effective multidisciplinary collaboration among clinical, medical, nursing, recovery-support, and case-management staff to meet each individual's treatment needs.
  • Maintain program licensing and regulatory compliance, including applicable Massachusetts DPH, Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, and accreditation requirements.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision, performance evaluation, corrective action, and professional development for program leaders and staff.
  • Monitor incidents, complaints, required training, documentation quality, productivity, financial records, contract billing requirements, and quality-assurance activities.
  • Partner with senior leadership on annual budgeting, resource planning, operational forecasting, and the responsible use of program resources.
  • Strengthen relationships with withdrawal-management programs, referral sources, payers, community providers, recovery supports, and other BHN services to promote continuity of care.

Who You Are:

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in a clinical or human-services field preferred.
  • Clinical licensure, such as LADC I, LICSW, or LMHC, preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in human services required, including a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience leading substance-use treatment, clinical residential, or stabilization services preferred.
  • Experience managing services that generate third-party revenue preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Massachusetts DPH Bureau of Substance Addiction Services regulations and applicable licensing requirements.
  • Commitment to individual empowerment, human rights, harm reduction, person-centered trauma-informed care, recovery, and community integration.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, technological, collaboration, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
