Job summary

Stern Therapy Consultants is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for PRN coverage at Blackstone Valley in Whitinsville, MA. The role supports a skilled nursing rehab team to help residents regain daily abilities after illness or injury.

You will deliver treatment under the OT plan of care, assist residents with self-care activities, and contribute to coordinated care with the rehab team. New grads are welcome, and a Massachusetts license with COTA certification is required.

Qualifications

• Active MA OT license and COTA certification are required.
• Ability to follow individualized treatment plans and maintain accurate documentation.
• Strong communication and resident-focused approach are essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver treatment under the supervising OT's plan of care to meet residents' functional goals.
• Assist with self-care activities such as dressing, bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Incorporate therapeutic activities to improve coordination and daily participation.
• Teach use of adaptive equipment and safety techniques per OT guidance.
• Record treatments and progress and communicate changes to the supervising therapist.
• Coordinate with nursing and therapy staff to reinforce care throughout the day.

Stern Therapy Consultants is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for PRN coverage at Blackstone Valley in Whitinsville, MA. Bring your skills to a skilled nursing rehab team helping residents regain everyday abilities following illness, injury, or hospitalization.

What You'll Do

• Deliver treatment under the supervising Occupational Therapist's plan of care, focusing on residents' functional goals.

• Guide residents through self-care activities such as dressing, bathing, grooming, and toileting.

• Incorporate therapeutic activities to improve coordination, upper-body function, and participation in daily routines.

• Teach residents how to use adaptive equipment and follow safety techniques established by the OT.

• Record treatment provided, resident responses, and progress; communicate changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.

• Coordinate with nursing and fellow therapy staff to reinforce care recommendations throughout the resident's day.
