Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the inpatient physical medicine team. You will assist with patient assessments, document progress, and deliver prescribed modalities and therapeutic activities under supervision.

The role emphasizes thorough record-keeping, education, and adapting care to neonatal through geriatric populations. The position requires OTA program graduation, current or eligible licensure, and a valid BLS credential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience preferred but new graduates will be considered.
• BLS certification required and must be current before caring for patients independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial patient assessment per directions from supervision and policies.
• Document patient care including progress notes and continuing need for treatment.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per policy.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records including documentation and charges.
• Participate in department education initiatives.
