Job summary

Palmetto Subacute Care Center in Florida is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide patient-centered treatment under the supervision of an OT. You will document progress and adjust plans as required by facility policy.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, punctuality, and delivering high-quality geriatric care in a long-term care setting. Licensure in state required; prior geriatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid professional license and registration for state of practice.
• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of Occupational Therapist.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred but not required.
• Well versed with documentation writing.
• Document patient’s progress on weekly progress note in a timely fashion.
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide best patient centered treatment and care.
• Exceptional patient service skills and ability to demonstrate clinical excellence.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and demonstrate professionalism.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Director of Rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out best practice treatments under supervision of the OT.
• Provide treatment by adhering to specific goals developed by the OT.
• Offer feedback to the supervising OT via documentation or other facility methods.
• Collaborate with all disciplines to provide patient-centered care.
• Demonstrate professionalism and punctuality in all shifts.
