Job summary

AVIR at La Hacienda in Eagle Pass, TX is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for full-time or per diem to join our in-house subacute rehabilitation team.

In this role, you will provide skilled OT under supervision, implement individualized treatment plans, assist with activities of daily living, monitor progress, document sessions, and educate patients and caregivers while collaborating with rehab and nursing teams.

Qualifications

• Texas COTA license in good standing is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Strong communication and clinical skills are required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or subacute rehabilitation is preferred.
• New graduates with appropriate certification are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy treatment under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve patients’ functional abilities and independence.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, mobility, coordination, strength, and functional skills.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Document treatment sessions and patient progress accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and recommendations.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary rehabilitation and nursing teams.
• Maintain compliance with professional, facility, and regulatory standards.
