Job summary

AVIR at Eagle Pass is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. This Full-Time position supports residents’ functional goals through hands-on care and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

New graduates are encouraged to apply. Texas COTA license and NBCOT eligibility are required; prior SNF/subacute experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Current Texas COTA license in good standing.
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
NBCOT certification or eligibility.
Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Provide skilled occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Implement individualized treatment plans based on residents’ needs and goals.
Assist residents with activities of daily living, therapeutic exercises, functional activities, mobility, coordination, and fine motor skills.
Monitor residents’ response to treatment and communicate progress or changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Provide education to residents and caregivers regarding therapeutic techniques, safety, and functional activities.
Document treatment sessions accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with OTs, PTs, PTAs, SLPs, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Participate in care planning and support residents in achieving their functional goals.
Maintain compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
