Job summary

AVIR at Lomaland in El Paso, TX is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team on a Per Diem basis. You will work with older adults to help them regain independence under the supervision of a licensed OT.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, assisting with ADLs, educating residents and families, and collaborating with OTs, PTs, and nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Current Texas COTA license/certification in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Experience in skilled nursing or subacute settings preferred.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under supervision of a licensed OT.
• Implement individualized treatment plans created by the OT.
• Assist residents with ADLs and functional mobility.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques.
• Collaborate with OTs, PTs, and nursing staff as part of the rehab team.
• Complete treatment documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
• Promote resident-centered, compassionate care.
