Job summary

The Aviara Healthcare Center is seeking a qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our clinical team in a full-time capacity. Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state.
• Proficiency in electronic documentation systems (Casamba, PointClickCare).
• Ability to read technical procedures, policies, and communicate with managers, coworkers, and families.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, and proportions in practical applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow written, oral, and visual instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient treatment as directed by the Occupational Therapist (OT) and in accordance with the physician's treatment plan.
• Document daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and required evaluations per OT Board regulations and payer requirements.
• Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides.
• Communicate patient progress, challenges, and plans with supervisors and healthcare team members.
• Participate in in-service training programs for facility staff.
• Educate patients, families, and nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training for discharge preparation.
• Assist with discharge planning and ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment area.
• Report any equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance.
• Foster positive and professional relationships with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
