Job summary

Mercy Health at Willard Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide patient treatment under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will document progress in the patient EHR and implement established treatment programs across inpatients, outpatients, pediatrics and off-site locations.

This role emphasizes collaboration with the health care team, adapting devices and activities to support daily living skills, and delivering family education.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state of current practice.
• BLS Basic Life Support required within 30 days for certain sites or on hire at RSFH/BSMH.
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Occupational Therapist and monitors response to treatment.
• Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment provided and patient's progress.
• Observes and reports patients’ responses to treatment and progress to the Occupational Therapist.
• Collaborates with Occupational Therapist and other health team members to plan, modify and coordinate treatment programs.
• Assists in assessment of client’s daily living skills and capabilities to determine extent of abilities and limitations.
• Designs and adapts equipment in working/living environment.
