Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist with initial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed OT.

You will document patient progress, administer modalities and exercises, and maintain records in accordance with department policy. The role requires knowledge of care across age groups from neonatal to geriatric and collaboration within the inpatient team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current license or eligible for licensure as OTA in state of practice.
• 1 year experience preferred, new graduates considered.
• BLS certification required and current.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessments for patients under OT supervision.
• Document progress notes and ongoing need for treatment.
• Administer modalities, exercises, or treatment procedures per policy.
• Maintain patient care records and charges documentation.
• Promote department education and teamwork.
• Demonstrate understanding of age-specific needs (neonatal to geriatric).
• Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor.
