Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant for Willard Hospital to provide patient treatment under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will document progress in the patient electronic health record and implement established programs across inpatients, outpatients, pediatrics and off-site locations.

Responsibilities include monitoring treatment response, maintaining records, collaborating with the health team, and assisting in assessments and equipment

Qualifications

• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state of current practice (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH) Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Occupational Therapist and monitors response to treatment.
• Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment provided and patient's progress.
• Observes and reports patients’ responses to treatment and progress to the Occupational Therapist.
• Collaborates with Occupational Therapist and other health team members to plan, modify and coordinate treatment programs.
• Assists in assessment of client’s daily living skills to determine abilities and limitations.
• Designs and adapts equipment in working/living environment.
