Job summary

Turner & Townsend is hiring a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our Los Angeles team. You will support cost consultancy, project management, and program management across a diverse portfolio of construction and real estate projects.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in cost management within construction, is familiar with procurement routes, value management, and value engineering, and can engage effectively with clients and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in cost management within construction.
• RICS accreditation is preferred or working toward it.
• Experience supporting cost management on medium or large-scale projects.
• Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on strategies, prequalify vendors, review bids, and attend bid interviews.
• Develop project estimates for construction, fees, direct costs, and review junior estimates.
• Present estimates and risk/VE analyses to clients and stakeholders.
• Review cost reports, budgets, and spend forecasts with clients and teams.
• Maintain commercial risk registers and lead periodic cost meetings.
• Oversee invoicing processes and cost control workflows.
• Benchmark performance across multiple projects and sectors.
• Conduct final accounting, post-contract audits, and lessons learned.
• Generate handover procedures and training materials.
