Job summary

Mortenson seeks an experienced Project Manager I to lead projects with professionalism and adaptability. This role focuses on quality, timeliness, safety, mentoring the project team, and developing strong customer relationships through service and communication.

The position oversees project financials, procurement for major subs, subcontracts, and contract negotiations, requiring strong leadership and technical acumen in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years of related project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and coordinate multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall financial health of projects.
• Lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and project schedules.
• Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phase for major subs and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections.
• Allocate project estimate into financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices.
• Provide financials and billings to accounting, create monthly owner billings.
• Manage subcontracts and suppliers, oversee budget and selections of trade partners.
• Handle billings, contract management, and change orders.
• Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, provide feedback.
