Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Manager I to lead projects with professionalism, flexibility, and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment. You will manage project quality, timeliness, safety, mentor the project team, and foster strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication.

The role requires coordinating finances, schedules, procurement, and contract management, while mentoring Project Engineers and ensuring safe, quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum six years of related previous experience.
• Ability to assist with responsibilities for complex projects.
• Detail orientation to organize and manage multiple tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall financial health of projects.
• Support and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and schedules.
• Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phase for major subs and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections.
• Allocate project estimates into the financial system and approve invoices.
• Provide financials and billings to accounting and monthly owner billings.
• Manage subcontracts and suppliers, oversee budget and vendor selections.
• Handle billings, contract management, and change orders.
• Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers; approve timecards.
