Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be certified by the SCDC training academy and complete the basic supervisory course within six months of entry into the position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct roll call, monitor officers on duty, and explain regulations.
• Assist in non-routine problems.
• Perform sanitation, safety, and security inspections of buildings, grounds, and vehicles.
• Assign duties to subordinates to ensure cleaning and proper inmate supervision.
• Supervise formal counts and conduct informal counts as needed.
• Assist in special investigations and make recommendations to supervisor.
• Evaluate officers' duty performance and provide instruction.
