Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a Security Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and direct the actions of the security staff in medium/maximum security facilities. You will oversee safety for buildings and public property and ensure OSHA standards are met.

You will perform routine unit checks, assist with inmate counts, and investigate complaints and disputes among inmates and staff. Successful completion of SCDC Basic Training is required within eight weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; a related bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.
• Experience in correctional/security/military/police preferred, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and complete basic supervisory course within six months.

Responsibilities
