Job summary

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and relevant experience; a bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
• Must successfully complete eight weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
• Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and complete the basic supervisory course within six months.

Responsibilities

• Supervises security staff at a medium security facility.
• Makes sanitation, safety, and security inspections of all buildings, contents, grounds and vehicles in a medium facility.
• Investigates complaints and violations, arbitrates disputes among inmate population and correctional staff.
• Supervises and verifies the accuracy of scheduled formal counts; makes informal counts when required.
