Job summary

Mike Durfee State Prison in Springfield, SD is seeking a licensed RN for a full-time Corrections Nursing role. The position features three 12-hour shifts per week with a flexible schedule including a weekend/holiday rotation.

You will provide patient care, manage records, administer medications, and support clinical operations in a secure facility. A current SD RN license and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in SD or eNLC.
• Ability to respond to emergencies involving offenders.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely inmate medical records.
• Transcribe shift reports and document patient interactions.
• Provide patient education within nursing guidelines.
• Administer medications and assist with procedures as needed.
• Ensure medications and supplies are restocked and secured.
• Support safety and security within the clinical area and assist in restraints when required.
