Job summary

Staff Today Inc. in Los Angeles is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to care for juvenile inmates in a secure setting. The role covers evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a focus on mood and behavioral health needs.

The candidate must hold a CA RN license, have at least 1 year of correctional nursing experience, and be comfortable in a forensic environment. EMR documentation, medication administration, and collaboration with medical and security staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted CA RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Correctional RN.
• Experience with juvenile inmates and mood/behavioral conditions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' health conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patient progress and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
• Perform wound care, IV therapy, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Maintain EMR records and ensure compliance with regulations.
