Shift Details:
Night (2200-0630)
Nursing Specialty: Correctional (Preferred Juvenile Correctional)
Will be working with juvenile inmate patients who are incarcerated struggling with mood, anxiety, and other behavioral conditions in a variety of settings.
Individuals should be comfortable working in a locked forensic environment with frequent interactions with law enforcement
Assess patients' health conditions and develop individualized care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Monitor patient progress and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
Perform wound care, IV therapy, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).
Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting safety and quality outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Correctional Registered Nurse in a patient experience,
Preferably with a background in working with juvenile inmate patients who are incarcerated struggling with mood, anxiety, and other behavioral conditions in a variety of settings.
Individuals should be comfortable working in a locked forensic environment with frequent interactions with law enforcement
AHA BLS/ACLS/PALS, NIHSS Certification,
MAB or CPI, LA City Fire and Life Safety card (must be LA City),
Completion of the LA County Employee Health Clearance prior to the assignment start date.
Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
