Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Corrections is seeking a Corrections Maintenance Foreman for the SCI Phoenix facility. You will lead inmate work crews, supervise maintenance and skilled trades tasks, and support daily operations to keep the institution functional and safe.

The role offers full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Work is 40 hours per week, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday, with no telework option.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work.
• Equivalency of experience and training acceptable.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA required.
• Ability to perform essential job functions and pass CJIS background checks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inmate work crews performing maintenance, repair, construction, and janitorial tasks.
• Plan daily schedules, assign tasks, and inspect completed work assignments.
• Teach proper operation and preventative maintenance of machinery and vehicles.
• Perform or assist with semi-skilled and skilled trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and welding.
• Issue, track, and inventory tools and materials while conducting searches to ensure accountability.
