Job summary

The Virginia Department of Corrections is seeking a Postal Assistant at Haynesville Correctional Center. You will handle mail processing for staff and inmates and ensure compliance with regulations while maintaining documentation and ACA standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic office practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Processes all mail, both internal and external, for staff and inmates.
• Receives and inspects all incoming and outgoing inmate mail for contraband.
• Receives and distributes departmental mail daily in compliance with regulations.
• Develops, updates, and maintains related documentation and reports.
• Assists Operations Department with ACA standards and required documentation.
