Job summary

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a Corrections Industry Supervisor to oversee staff and train individuals in custody in the Knit Shop, ensuring proper use of tools and materials and coordinating production of all orders at Menard Correctional Center.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years high school or completion of an approved training course.
• Requires two years of supervisory experience in a field related to the position to be filled.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and directs individual in custody workers in the proper use of tools, equipment and materials utilized in the Knit Shop.
• Coordinates the production of all orders.
• Maintains quality control of all repair work performed.
• Acts as staff assistant to Industry Superintendent in the overall operation.
• Report infractions of rules in accordance with Administrative Directives.
