Job summary

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections seeks a Financial Specialist to maintain PIOC accounts using the Wisconsin Integrated Corrections System (WICS). You will handle receipts, disbursements, and obligations, respond to correspondence, and back up other specialists as needed.

The position pays $22.31 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package, including vacation, holidays, insurance, and retirement options. A twelve-month probationary period applies.

Qualifications

• Data gathering, entry, and financial reports.
• Basic computer experience, including spreadsheets, word processing, and email.
• Working with records and forms.
• Basic math, cash handling, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain PIOC accounts using Wisconsin Integrated Corrections System (WICS).
• Process receipts, disbursements, and PIOC obligations; respond to PIOC correspondence.
• Prepare general fund checks and PIOC canteen statements; maintain PIOC and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare routine monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports; provide backup to other Financial Specialists.
• Assume additional duties as assigned by the Financial Program Supervisor.
