Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of seven years of related maintenance experience.
• Possession of a current state or local license for HVAC, plumbing or electrical.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Must attain certification by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement as a Jailer within one year of employment.
• Valid driver's license; Texas license within 90 days.
• Fingerprint-based background check and CJIS/TCOLE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs mechanical and electrical equipment, including jail security systems.
• Repairs building components and related life-safety systems per schedule.
• Supervises inmate trustees on work projects.
• Assists in drafting and engineering for repairs.
• Reviews contracted work for quality and compliance.
