Job summary

Denton County's Sheriff's Department seeks a Corrections Facility Technician I to perform semi-skilled to skilled maintenance and repair across the jail facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and security systems.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, at least one year of related experience, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain Texas jailer certification within one year. A valid driver's license (TX within 90 days) and CJIS/TCOLE checks are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of related maintenance/repair experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems in jail facilities.
• Maintain and repair security systems, locks, doors, and surveillance equipment.
• Assist in development of preventive maintenance programs and schedules.
• Carry out carpentry, painting, plumbing, and HVAC tasks as needed.
• Supervise inmate trustees on work projects and review contracted work for quality.
