Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections, Jackson Correctional Institution, is seeking an Electronic Technician II to maintain, repair, and install electronic systems within a correctional facility. The role covers perimeter security, CCTV, internal security systems, locking control, and related equipment in the Maintenance Department.

The position is on-site, reports to the Maintenance Department, and requires a high school diploma or equivalent and electronics experience (or four years of electronics

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent or four+ years of electronics experience.
• Trade/technical training can substitute for required experience.
• A valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install electrical infrastructure, systems, and devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance, tests, logs, and records per guidelines.
• Repair and calibrate electronic equipment and testing instruments.
• Plan work, requisition parts, and follow policies/procedures.
• Prepare reports and supervise inmates as needed.
