Job summary

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is currently recruiting to fill the position of Correctional Officer in the Jail and to establish an employment list.

Under continuing supervision, incumbents will perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some college coursework in criminal justice or related field.
• STC Corrections Core Course preferred; related experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Support jail operations and court security as a Correctional Officer and Bailiff under supervision.
• May be assigned to either County Jail security or Court security.
