Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Facility Classification Supervisor at Scotland Correctional Institution in Laurinburg. This full-time role oversees classification services for a large facility housing over 1,756 offenders and reports to the Associate Warden for Programs.

Responsibilities include chairing the Classification Committee, training staff, preparing hearings, assigning Case Managers, and supervising custody and control reviews; a bachelor’s degree and related

Qualifications

Experience with prisons' policies, offender classification, and correctional programs.
Experience interpreting policies, procedures, and laws pertaining to the offender classification system.
Minimum education requirement is a bachelor’s degree plus one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

Chair the Facility Classification Committee and supervise offender job/program assignments.
Train institution staff on classification issues.
Coordinate and prepare presentations for Director’s Classification Committee hearings.
Assign Case Managers to offenders and audit the facility’s case management operations.
Supervise the classification process for custody and control status reviews.
Perform other duties as delegated by the Correctional Programs Director I.
