Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction seeks a Program Coordinator II (NS) at Scotland Correctional Institution in Laurinburg to supervise classifications services. This role chairs the Facility Classification Committee and oversees offender job/program assignments, transfers, and records.

You will train staff, prepare materials for hearings, assign Case Managers, and monitor the classification process to ensure custody and control reviews are conducted accurately.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience.
• Experience with offender classification and correctional programs.
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Chair the Facility Classification Committee and supervise offender job/program assignments, transfers, and records.
• Train institution staff on classification issues.
• Prepare presentations for the Director’s Classification Committee hearings.
• Assign Case Managers and periodically audit the facility’s case management operations.
• Supervise the classification process regarding custody and control status reviews.
• Perform other duties as delegated by the Correctional Programs Director I.
