Job summary

DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS is seeking a Corrections Training Officer to conduct specialized training at the John Lilley Correctional Center. You will assess employee needs, develop curricula, and deliver both pre-service and in-service programs on varied topics.

The role covers planning, recording results, and supervising other training staff. A bachelor’s degree is expected, with Level II requiring additional experience or a master’s in related fields; on-site work only.

Qualifications

• Level I requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent mix of education/experience.
• Level II requires a bachelor’s plus 1 year of qualifying experience or a master’s degree.
• Correctional security work may count toward education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct job analyses to identify training needs and develop curricula.
• Lead classroom training, workshops, and seminars for staff development.
• Prepare training reports and maintain participant records.
• Schedule training sessions and coordinate locations.
• Supervise other training officers in program planning.
• Manage contracts with service providers.
