The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in correctional custody or law enforcement, experience in curriculum development, and the ability to obtain instructor certifications within 6 months

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of correctional custody or law enforcement experience.
• Willing and able to complete all required instructor certification courses within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Instruct security and non-security trainees and employees in security procedures, searches, inmate custody and management, emergency response, defensive tactics, and the use of firearms and chemical agent delivery systems.
• Prepare training materials and provide classroom instruction; counsel and supervise trainees; evaluate performance and administer examinations.
• Coordinate with academy leadership to maintain training schedules; develop and revise lesson plans and training aids; maintain training records; ensure compliance with agency policies and safety standards.
