District of Columbia Government seeks a Lieutenant for the DC Department of Corrections, Central Detention Facility (CDF) and Correctional Treatment Facility (CTF). You will supervise multiple shifts, plan assignments, and lead staff in security, inmate conduct, and facility operations.

Responsibilities include rosters, post orders, staff training, safety compliance, and coordination with law enforcement for investigations and incident response.

Qualificações

• Specialized experience demonstrating leadership in a supervisory capacity within a correctional or similarly structured environment.
• Ability to plan, direct, and evaluate staff across multiple shifts.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and carry out assignments, including difficult or sensitive situations, using correctional leadership practices.
• Supervise shift operations, post assignments, conduct roll calls, and monitor safety/health hazards.
• Counsel non-supervisory staff on correctional duties, security, inmate conduct, and facility upkeep.
• Deploy personnel strategically to ensure productive supervision and rapid response to emergencies.
• Prepare rosters, develop post orders, and provide staff training and performance evaluations.
• Interface with law enforcement and provide information for investigations.
