Job summary

The State of North Carolina is seeking a Corrections Sergeant I (S) for Caldwell Correctional Center in Caldwell County, NC. This role provides first-line supervision of Correctional Officer I staff, oversees shift operations, and ensures safety and adherence to policies.

The position includes rotating weekends and varied duties, with reporting to the Warden or Assistant Warden. Candidates must meet minimum education/experience requirements and be eligible for NC CJ Standards certification.

Qualifications

• High School or GED diploma required.
• Two years of correctional officer experience required.
• Must be eligible for certification by North Carolina Standards Commission.

Responsibilities

• Conduct shift line-up and assign posts; ensure staff readiness.
• Supervise and assign officers to areas/posts.
• Maintain time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, and evaluations.
