Job summary

Qualifications

• High School or GED required and two years six months of experience as a Correctional Officer, or two years as Correctional Officer II.
• Must be eligible for certification by the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training and Standards Commission.
• Criminal background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Correctional Officer II staff in medium custody facilities.
• Oversee officer activities and ensure custody, security and welfare of offenders.
• Arrange work schedules to ensure shift coverage and implement operational procedures.
• May serve as Officer-in-Charge (OIC).
