Job summary

CorrHealth in Denver, Colorado is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to inmates, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of health status, while supporting security responsibilities within the facility.

The role requires an active RN license, CPR/BLS certification, current TB test, and willingness to work in a correctional setting with potential leadership duties as needed; shifts include 6am-4pm or 12pm-10pm, minimum 15 hours per month.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• CPR/BLS certification current.
• TB test current within 12 months.
• Degree or diploma from a nursing program approved.
• Experience in correctional healthcare preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess inmates and identify health problems and document medical records.
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications as needed.
• Prepare equipment, records and exam rooms and assist providers.
• Maintain IVs and manage IV therapies as needed.
• Educate patients on diet, hygiene, and prevention of chronic diseases.
• Delegate tasks to staff and participate in shift leadership when needed.
