Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma from an approved professional nursing program.
• Current and unrestricted RN license in Colorado.
• Correctional healthcare experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess new inmates and initiate medical records.
• Respond to day-to-day medical issues and emergencies.
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications.
• Prepare medical equipment, records, and rooms for examinations.
• Maintain IVs and IV therapies as needed.
• Delegate tasks to lower level staff as acting supervisor.
• Educate patients on diet, hygiene, and prevention of chronic diseases.
