Job summary

CorrHealth is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive nursing care within a correctional facility in Colorado. The role includes assessing inmates, planning care, and evaluating health status under physician supervision.

Responsibilities cover administering treatments, managing IV therapies, and ensuring accurate documentation while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records. LPNs or other staff support may be delegated as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the state.
• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license.
• Correctional healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess health problems of inmates and initiate medical records.
• Respond to day-to-day medical issues and emergencies.
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications as needed.
• Prepare equipment, records, and rooms for examinations; assist provider.
• Maintain IVs for IV therapies and monitor equipment and procedures.
• Coordinate with HSA, delegate tasks to staff, and supervise in absence.
• Practice safe use of medical devices and perform CPR and AED if needed.
• Educate inmates on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention.
