Job summary

CorrHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive nursing care to inmate patients in a correctional facility. You will assess needs, develop care plans, and evaluate outcomes as part of a health care team.

The role entails shift work from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., performing treatments, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and facility policies. A current RN license and CPR/BLS are required, with a background check and drug test as applicable.

Qualifications

Must have degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the state accrediting agent.
Current and unrestricted RN license must be maintained.
Experience in correctional healthcare preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Assess and identify health problems of inmates and initiate medical records.
Respond to day-to-day medical issues and emergencies.
Administer prescribed treatments and medications as needed.
Prepare equipment, records, and rooms for examinations and assist providers.
Support pharmacology practices in preparation and documentation of drugs and IV therapies.
Maintain IVs for IV therapies as needed.
Collaborate with HSA and delegate tasks as needed.
Provide CPR instructions and respond to CPR emergencies when trained.
Use standard medical equipment safely (AED, EKG, BP, etc.).
Educate patients on diet, hygiene, and chronic disease prevention.
