Job summary

ATTIC Correctional Services is seeking an Employment Support Specialist to work with residents at Oakhill Correctional Institution, supporting job readiness, employment placement, and reentry planning. You will collaborate with correctional staff, employers, and community partners to deliver individualized support and programming in a correctional setting.

The role focuses on developing resumes, preparing residents for interviews, and facilitating DBT, life-skills, and mindfulness activities

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license for minimum of two years.
• Ability to complete DOC van driver training and satisfy risk-management requirements.
• Experience with justice-involved individuals or related human services field.
• At least 15 post-secondary education credits or equivalent experience.
• Good oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update Resident files (participation, resumes, etc.).
• Collect and report program data to ACS and DOC personnel.
• Coordinate with supervisor and work hours with IUS.
• Communicate with ACS supervisor regularly.
• Facilitate activities for RHU residents and work-release residents.
• Participate in multidisciplinary committees and support re-entry interventions.
• Assist residents in obtaining state IDs or driver's licenses.
• Develop and implement life-skills lessons (DBT, mindfulness).
• Lead resume building and job interview preparation.
• Uphold professional boundaries and trauma-informed interactions.
