Qualifications

• One year of work experience in guidance, counseling, or job placement.
• Ability to liaison with employers, research employment prospects, and counsel offenders in job search skills.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accountability of offenders on job search via telephonic and/or on-site verification.
• Audit employment search verification forms and contact employers to verify presence and interview skills counseling.
• Assist planning of job search locations, transportation, and sign in/out times.
• Ensure verifications are completed within guidelines.
• Maintain monthly telephonic contact with offenders and supervisors; log each contact.
• Counsel offenders in appearance, presentation, and speaking skills for interviews.
• Assist with compiling and composing résumés.
• Develop employment resources with employers, other agencies, trainings, and education opportunities.
• Assist offenders with identifying data compliant with I-9 requirements.
• Monitor job search efforts and ensure full-time employment within 30 days of arrival.
• Distribute updated employment resources to all offenders; build relationships with organizations and communities.
• Assist with other duties as needed by the Director.
