Job summary

Amity Foundation in Vista, CA seeks an Employment Services Representative to support unemployed participants with resume writing, interview skills, job search, and placement. This full-time, on-site role works with our prison and re-entry programs to help the community and build practical training in the field.

The position emphasizes collaboration with local employers, maintaining rosters, and guiding students through employment and rehabilitation resources, while aligning with Amity policies

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in social sciences or related field is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of experience as a job developer or similar.
• Within six weeks of hire, obtain First Aid and CPR certification and pass a health examination and TB test.
• Ability to cope with difficult or temperamental students and faculty.
• Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress related to the position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an updated roster of student placements.
• Collaborate with area employers to create job opportunities for participants.
• Notify prospective employers of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, the fidelity bonding incentive, and other hiring benefits.
• Prepare and update a monthly roster of employers willing to hire students and provide it to CDCR when requested.
• Coordinate referrals with the Program Director and staff.
• Provide counseling and employability services to students and assist in planning for occupational goals.
• Assist students to locate and secure employment, education services, or CTE training.
