Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two years of supervisory or management level experience in correctional programs.
• Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
• Experience applying departmental policies and procedures with offender rehabilitation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for facility programs including classification, chaplaincy, recreation, transitional services, work assignments, and educational opportunities.
• Supervise both direct and indirect staff, manage recruitment and performance processes, coordinate resources, and ensure policy compliance.
• Maintain structured offender schedules, oversee daily activities, and ensure proper implementation of programming and evidence-based practices.
• Prepare reports, respond to inquiries from offenders, families, attorneys, agencies, and the public; support budget and communication among staff.
