Job summary

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections is recruiting for Correctional Security Officers for multiple positions across the state. Applicants must attend an eight-week live-in academy in Oklahoma City (Sunday 6:00 PM to Thursday 6:00 PM) and will be housed with meals provided during the academy.

Instituting field training with a Field Training Officer, employees will work at their chosen facility beginning with academy deployment, to oversee inmate security, discipline, and daily operations as

Qualifications

• Minimum age 20 years and possession of 30 college hours or a high school diploma/GED with approved training.
• Successful completion of pre-employment and annual physicals and training requirements per state rules.
• Corporal requires 12 months of correctional or security experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide security and supervision over inmates to maintain order.
• Escort inmates to work sites and control equipment and keys.
• Patrol yards, cells, and corridors to monitor activities.
• Prepare incident reports and document inmate behavior and movements.
• Respond to alarms, riots, and emergencies and maintain safety.
