Job summary

NaphCare is hiring a Medical Records Clerk at the Limestone Correctional Facility in Harvest, AL. The role supports correctional health services by entering and organizing inmate medical records and handling information requests in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining digital and physical records, ensuring documentation accuracy, and performing general clerical tasks in a secure setting. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; typing speed of 45 wpm.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work under stress.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient information into electronic systems and maintain filing systems.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of medical documentation.
• Handle requests for medical information from authorized parties in compliance with HIPAA.
• Manage incoming/outgoing mail, answer phones, and relay messages related to medical records.
• Create, update, and organize inmate medical records and assemble/disassemble files.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and other duties as assigned.
